New online site opens to market and sell Hebridean smoked salmon products

Hebridean raised salmon is now available as a smoked product.

The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC) has launched a new ecommerce site, giving consumers the chance to order its award-winning smoked Scottish salmon directly to their door for the first time.

Raised in the West Coast of Scotland and Hebrides, only the finest quality fresh Scottish s almon is used to make Native Hebridean and Harris & Lewis smoked Scottish s almon. Fillets are gently smoked by artisan smokers who cure each fillet by hand at the Harris & Lewis Smokehouse in Stornoway, resulting in an unrivalled freshness and a rich flavour.

Winner of a Great Taste Award in 2020, Native Hebridean Scottish s almon is the result of a ten year broodstock programme. This unique native strain descends from the wild salmon of North Uist and is raised exclusively in the Hebrides and fully traceable to the islands.

Prized by the world’s best chefs, it has a firm texture and outstanding flavour. An innovative curing process has been specifically designed to minimise water usage, reducing environment impact. Only the exact amount of cure necessary is hand massaged into each fresh fillet, meaning there is no need to rinse off excess ingredients and waste water before smoking.

The fillets are then finished in pebble-lined kilns with wood shavings from aged Scotch whisky barrels.

Native Hebridean smoked Scottish s almon is available in 100g and 200g packs or as a pre-sliced side.

Also available in 100g and 200g packs or as a pre-sliced side, Harris & Lewis smoked Scottish s almon is hand cured by artisan smokers with sea salt and demerara sugar, then smoked in the traditional method using Scotch whisky cask wood chippings.

Tasting packs are available containing 100g of n ative Hebridean and 100g of Harris & Lewis smoked Scottish salmon, as well as sharing packs which contain 200g of n ative Hebridean and a further 200g of Harris & Lewis s moked Scottish s almon.

Smoked salmon is available in pre sliced packs or as a full side.

Free delivery is available as an introductory offer throughout the UK until Sunday, April 11. There is also a click and collect option for those that live locally to the Harris & Lewis Smokehouse in Stornoway.
